First it was Trump- now it is Bernie's people learning that the primary and caucus systems are rigged

Now the Bernie Sanders supporters are realizing what Donald Trump learned last month; the primary and caucuses are not very democratic. They are run by the political party elites and voter participation is not their main purpose.
Recently I ran an article on Trump's realizations that the Republican Party selection of candidates was rigged in favor of party leadership. Now Bernie supporters are realizing the same thing in the Democratic Party. The candidate selection process is rigged in their party also, designed to allow "super delegates" to act as trump cards, to over-ride a candidate the people chose in favor of a candidate that is acceptable to party leadership.
In the Wyoming caucus Sanders won a clear majority of the votes, but Hillary Clinton got the majority of the delegates. According to the Wyoming Tribute Eagle;

"Critics – inside and outside Wyoming– have questioned the system that allowed Clintonto come out ahead in the delegate count. They’ve also knocked the state Democratic Party because absentee ballots sent out by the Clintoncampaign had a return address of the Wyoming Democratic Party’s Cheyenne post office box – which some say gave the appearance of the party officially endorsing the former U.S. secretary of state."
And in Nevada Yahoo News reported;

"Nevada's Democratic party on Monday warned the Democratic National Committee that Sen. Bernie Sanders' supporters have a penchant for violence and may seek to disrupt the party's national convention in July, as they did during the Nevada convention Saturday.
The allegation is the latest fallout from a divisive Nevada Democratic convention that had to be shut down because security at the Paris Las Vegas hotel could no longer ensure order on Saturday night. The gathering closed with some Sanders supporters throwing chairs; later, some made death threats against state party chairwoman Roberta Lange.
Sanders' backers had been protesting convention rules that ultimately led to Hillary Clinton winning more pledged delegates. Clinton won the state's caucuses in February, 53-47, but Sanders backers hoped to pick up extra delegates by packing county and state party gatherings."

Violence from Sanders' people have not been happening in earlier caucuses. Many of these people are young and new to the presidential campaign system. The unfairness to Sanders has clearly upset many of them. It may not be a good course of action, but there is some logic as to why such violence broke out. People need to take back control of the political system. This is more evidence that our presidential campaigns lack real democracy and a real choice of candidates in the primary election and caucus systems. This is a major problem with having a two-party system. This is why we really need a multi-party system.
In a Saturday, May 14, 2016 photo, supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders react as U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., speaks during the Nevada State Democratic Party’s 2016 State Convention at the Paris hotel-casino in Las Vegas. The Nevada Democratic Convention turned into an unruly and unpredictable event, after tension with organizers led to some Bernie Sanders supporters throwing chairs and to security clearing the room, organizers said. Time to fight back against repressive abortion laws from Oklahoma’s political yahoos

From Julie A. Burkhart, Founder and CEO of Trust Women Foundation:

Today (May 19) the Oklahoma Senate passed SB 1552, which, if signed into law, would make it illegal for a doctor to perform an abortion in our neighboring state. As you know, we are putting the finishing touches on a new clinic in Oklahoma City to give women access to their reproductive rights. Oklahoma City is the largest metropolitan area in the country without an abortion provider,
Please reach out to Gov. Mary Fallin to ask her to veto this blatantly unconstitutional bill. Your voice is crucial. She has five days to sign or veto the bill. Please help us make sure she chooses the latter. You may call her office at (405) 521-2342.
While we've been busy prepping for our new clinic, we've also been meeting with a lot of journalists and writing opinion pieces.
I wanted to share some recent news coverage in case you hadn't seen it.
Marie Claire takes an in-depth look into what it takes to provide abortion services in the Midwest in its June issue. It would be great if you would buy a copy to show support for the magazine tackling difficult issues.

The Wichita Eagle published an opinion piece about the state of women in Kansas. Spoiler alert: Women don't fare well in the Sunshine State.
How can you help us get out the word that women deserve access to and control over their reproductive rights? Write letters to the editor. Write your legislators. Be sure to like Trust Women and Trust Women South Wind Women's Center on Facebook. Follow @trustwomen on Twitter and connect with South Wind on LinkedIn.

The more people we can reach, the more women we can help. It's that simple.

Do we REALLY want Trump to win?

New polls are showing Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump in a dead heat for the upcoming presidential elections. These new poll numbers are being posted by several news organizations including the Inquisitr article below. Nearly all the pundits are pointing to the fact that Bernie Sanders is still in the race. While Sanders is not likely to win the Democratic nomination, he can stay in the race until he no longer has a chance to win enough delegates. In the mean time Trump has not had the usual bad publicity that eats away at his credibility and Hillary has had an image problem for a long time.
There are also the "Bernie or bust" Crowd of mostly young people who refuse to support or even agree to vote for Hillary. Bernie seems to be running on issues and seems to want to push for changes at the upcoming Democratic Convention this summer.
Trying to push for badly needed change is a great idea. But there is the possibility at this point that our next president may be Donald Trump. Can we really let this happen? Do we take our chances as to what this man will do to our country? A lot of people have a lot to lose. Many immigrants worry, with legitimate cause that they may be deported. I will soon need insurance. What will I do if he actually gets rid of Obama care. I seriously can't believe he will come up with a better program. And I have health problems. I'm old and my wife wants to retire. This could lead to serious problems for us. I really don't want trump to win.
So people in this country need to seriously consider what will happen if Trump wins.

From theInquisitr:
A new pair of presidential polls pitting Republican Donald Trump against Democrat Hillary Clinton appear to show that the continued presence of Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary has damaged Clinton. At the same time, Trump has benefited from a “bump” in the polls since he became the presumptive Republican nominee early in May....

.....The Sanders campaign and the “Trump Bump” have combined, along with other factors, to close the gap between the two candidates, with one new poll released Sunday showing Trump with a lead of two percentage points over Clinton.
For the first time, the polling average compiled by the site Real Clear Politics shows Clinton and Trump in a virtual tie, with Trump averaging 43.4 percent support across all polls and Clinton at 43.2.

Congressman Pompeo has faith in the military but plays his own people as cowards

While US Representative Mike Pompeo R-Kansas is one of the most pro-military politicians of the US House of Representatives, he seems to believe that his constituents are all cowards.
And while he likes to glamorize the military and its heroic efforts to save us from terrorists in the middle-east, he thinks his followers in Kansas are chicken-shits.
In a recent statement to his constituencies:

"This past week was very important for my fight to help keep the people of Kansassafe.  I’m talking specifically about the fight to stop Guantanamo Bay (GTMO) detainees from being transferred to U.S. facilities such as Ft. Leavenworth.
During the first half of the week, Congress voted on numerous amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), legislation that sets policy forAmerica’s military for the coming year.  Many of the proposed amendments focused on the detention facility at GTMO, and the detainees held there, including one an amendment that I introduced....

Taking questions from Kansans this winter about the potential transfer of GTMO detainees to Kansas
But before I could do so, I joined fellow members of the House of Representatives to stop an amendment that would allow President Obama to move GTMO detainees to the United States, including potentially to Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas.  These terrorists are the worst of the worst.  Data shows that when released, they return to terrorism at a rate that would stun most Kansans. I took to the House floor to forcefully push back against the amendment and protect the people of Kansas from such reckless action."

After all, this state is not afraid to put serial killers and insane criminals of all types on trial. He implies that Kansans are not safe with Guantanamo Bay (GTMO) detainees. These are the detainees that are denied due process of law. They have never been before a judge...never allowed to challenge the accusations against them, that they are terrorists. Pompeo said they are the "worst of the worst."When we consider that we give serial killers trials, we let some of the worst mass murderers of history get trials, we must wonder how bad these people can be. And while many Kansans are willing to join the military and fight, he assumes the rest of Kansas' people are cowards...too afraid to let these "crazed-criminal-foreigners" a chance at a trial. He says it is way to dangerous to take a chance on giving them a fair trial. These people might win. And then what? And our own system of justice may simply not work. That means it was too flawed to allow foreigners t have trials in the fist place.

Some of the danger cold be that this country would realize that our people also commit war crimes. We assassinate people. We bomb hospitals. And worst  of all, no matter what these "detainees" did, they deserve their day in court.
To continue Pompeo's tirade:

"I’m pleased to report that the amendment was defeated.  I countered this with an amendment of my own, which aims to provide Americans with information on just how committed the GTMO prisoners are to violent jihad.  My NDAA amendment would require that the administration review the terrorist activities of former GTMO detainees, and release to the American public any information on the detainee’s past terrorist activity that can be safely declassified.
My amendment would require the Obama administration to look Kansans in the face and tell them exactly the type of radical terrorists they are bringing into our state.  With resounding support, this amendment was adopted.  Then, with strong provisions included to keep GTMO open and detainees out of the United States, the House passed the NDAA."

No Matter what these detainees actually believe, Pompeo has played the people of Kansas as cowards. And the people of Kansas deserve better than that!

Another Memorial Day heads our way

We are just about 2 days away from Memorial Day. It is a major holiday, although not as major as Labor Day, Christmas or Thanksgiving. A lot of people will get the picnicbaskets and food out for a happy day of getting the family together for an outing in a nearby park or just someone's back yard.
Some of us will visit cemeteries, as I will since my brother died back in the 1990s and my Mom died a few years ago. I have no family that died in combat. My wife's dad, who died about 15 years ago and he was a vet of World War II. He was a military career man. He fought in D-Day. on the beaches of Europe. He never liked to talk about that. He fought in one of the last "good wars." A war that had some justification to it. Adolf Hitler not only fought Americaand Europe, be he also wanted to get rid of the Soviet Union. It was for that reason that the international communist movement and all its parties supported the war effort.
Some people will got to some vet honoring event, such as a parade or service in one of WichitaKansas's many pro-vet parks. I lived through the 1960s and 1970s when it was not cool to be pro-military. Today it is real cool to be pro-military or in the military. Many young people can't wait to join the military and play soldier. I heard a young woman on the radio a few months ago who was asked why she wanted to fight in the military: "To kick the bad guy's ass!" she gleamed. Yes for many today, war is our chance to kick the bad guys ass, who ever that bad guy is and what ever he/she did to be labeled a "bad guy."
So as I prepare for Monday's festivities I will concentrate on honoring those who died, were wounded or were tortured by our pro-imperialist military.US or NATO empire and lost their lives!" I oppose a nation that takes on the position of "world cop" and will enforce politics that this country and most of Europe have decided that ALL people in the world must agree to. This is not a world were people of a nation can decide what ideology they want to believe in and support. They must support "free enterprise" and all the belief systems that comes with that, including pre-packaged political parties designed to keep the system from ever changing.
"To those who stood up to the
I will also join in with those who want to honor those black people who died at the hands of our police. With those two goals in mind, I will celebrate the lives of those who died at the hands of our imperialist army and racist police.

So pass the hamburger buns and the ketchup.

Let's vote Republican if we can oust the Tea Baggers

I have just re-registered Republican. This way I can vote in the Republican primary this summer and try to oust as many of Brownback's despicable minions as possible. So if you are not glued to the Democrats, file as a Republican and lets trash out the Tea Baggers.
If you care to join me it is necessary to register by June 1. That gives potential voters Monday and Tuesday to make the switch.
I know there are a lot of voters who read this that are die-hard Democrats. But some of us realize that label holds us back. If the voters of Kansasare that stuck in their ways that they absolutely won't vote for a Democrat then some of us need to run as Republicans. The important thing is to get the Tea Baggers out of office. We need to do that anyway we can. That means if we need to steal their party emblem then let's do it.

I plan to post as much as I can about the contested primary elections so we can try and vote in moderate Republicans.

Trump's campaign is broke

From Daily Cos:

Another broke effort by serial business loser Donald Trump.
Donald Trump's campaign has alerted Senate Republicans that he won't have much money to spend fending off attacks from Hillary Clinton over the next couple months.
The notice came when Paul Manafort, Trump's senior advisor, met with a group of Senate Republican chiefs of staff for lunch last week, sources familiar with the meeting told the Washington Examiner. The admission suggests that Trump will be far more dependent on the GOP brass for money than he has led voters to believe [...]
"They know that they're not going to have enough money to be on TV in June and probably most of July, until they actually accept the nomination and get RNC funds, so they plan to just use earned media to compete on the airwaves," one GOP source familiar with Manafort's comments told the Examiner.

Texas is ONE more example of the affects of global warming.

It's hard to believe there are still people who deny global warming and climate change. But there are. Even Donald Trump is a climate change denier. While many people may refuse to believe it, it is effecting them. Great changes in the weather, with more intense storms is now happening. The best example is the flooding going on right now in Texas. Some folks are beginning to notice. But the majority of  US citizens need to head the warning now before these changes become so permanent that they can't be changed. The rest of us will have to learn to live with the consequences of global warming for some time to come. So here is an article from a British publication.- SJ Otto

A new study finds a human fingerprint in the wettest month on record in Texas and Oklahoma.

We know that as humans emit greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, it causes the Earth to warm. But it also causes other climate changes that are less obvious. In some instances, it makes areas wetter (because there is more moisture in the air as temperature increases). This can lead to increased flooding. In other instances, it speeds evaporation so that droughts can set in more quickly and deeply. While it would appear these affects would offset each other, in reality more droughts or floods occur depending on where you are located.
In some instances, areas are experiencing more severe droughts and more flooding as the weather systems swing from dry to wet quickly. Added to this is the fact that ocean temperatures have an enormous influence on weather.
As an example, an El Niño, which is the appearance of a warm water pool in the Pacific Ocean, can influence weather across the globe. Human-caused warming of the oceans adds to the El Niño cycles, which in turn affect the atmosphere. The real scientific question is, do human greenhouse gases influence a specific flood or drought event? A growing body of science is finding that the answer to this question is yes.
A paper just published in Geophysical Research Letters looked at the May 2015 floods in Texas and Oklahoma in the USA, which resulted from the wettest single month on record in both states. The lead author, Dr. Wang from UtahState and his colleagues examined the role of strengthened El Niño teleconnections on the flood event. Before getting into their conclusions, a little background is important.

Take Republican Webinars and learn how they win elections- don't miss this important opportunity!

While I am opposed to the Republican Party and most of what it stands for there is no question in my mind that the party has perfected the art of winning elections. Over the past six years Republicans have won elections to the point where, according to Vox;

“And the vast majority — 70 percent of state legislatures, more than 60 percent of governors, 55 percent of attorneys general and secretaries of state — are in Republicans hands. And, of course, Republicans control both chambers of Congress…

If Donald Trump wins the presidential elections in November the Republican Party will control the senate, house, executive branch and possibly the Supreme Court. In other words they will control EVERY THING!
They are also winning in most states the same way they may be controlling the US government. In Kansas we saw how an extremely unpopular governor was brought back from the dead to win a second term. Despite outcries from the moderate wing of the Republican Party, as well as Democrats, he has been able to continue gutting of government services, such as education, in this Kansas.
So how do the Republicans keep winning elections? It is more than just producing popular candidates. They seem to have perfected the art of organizing their people and using every program and trick to maximize their election efforts. They leave nothing to chance. Most important they have been winning close elections where their organizing techniques made up for a lack of popular support for some candidates.
Now we have an opportunity to peak in and see what some of these techniques are. I received an e-mail from a pro-Republican outfit called American Majority. They are co-hosting some webinar series explaining how a candidate can use their many organizing techniques to win elections. While they expected these webinar series to go to conservative prospective candidates and political activists, they sent their messages to me. Now we on the left can now share some of these secrets.

I strongly suggest anyone interested in running for office or working on someone else's campaign to sign up for these webinars. This is information all of us on the left need. The first thing to do is to sign up and register byclicking here.
Then visit the scheduling page (click here).
Then the actual scheduling for these webinar's will be given here to those wishing to participate.

Every Kansas Senate race in SedgwickCounty now has an opponent who's planning to run against a GOP person or Brownback ally who has done damage to Kansas. In the weeks to come, this site will be posting articles to help voters recognize which candidates are supporting Gov. Sam Brownback and his destruction of schools and other Kansasinstitutions. Donna L. Wirth will be running to occupy the seat vacated by Michael O'Donnel. Also running will be Deb Shepard who will try to oust John Witmer. -SJ Otto

Here are some other races made public in The Wichita Eagle:

The contests that will make up the next Kansas Legislature took shape Wednesday as the deadline for candidates to file passed.
All 165 seats – 125 in the House and 40 in the Senate – are up for election this year.
The Kansas Republican Party will try to keep or solidify holds on seats being vacated by a number of Wichita-area Republicans who chose not to seek re-election, including Mario Goico, Mark Hutton and Mark Kahrs in the House and Michael O’Donnell, Les Donovan and Steve Abrams in the Senate. A number of primaries will pit Republican against Republican.
Democrats, who have struggled to gain traction in Topeka, boast of what the party calls an unprecedented lineup of candidates, including a candidate in each Senate district for the first time in more than 30 years. They say they want to capitalize on voter angst related to tumult during the last two legislative sessions.

The Primary is over —it is Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump —let's dump Trump

Like it or not we now have two choices for president next November. Both candidates seem to have a lot of hate from their own parties. In all my election years this is the strangest election I've seen in many years.
This was the first year I actually got to vote for a democratic socialist or a socialist of any kind for US president. That is not including when the Communist Party USA ran Gus Hall. My Marxist friends condemned Bernie Sanders and any kind of work for his campaign. They said he was not really a socialist and would really just support the established order. However young people poured out for him in mass all across the country. Even here in conservative Kansasthe young got involved and Bernie won by a landslide.  This is all good to see. I have not seen anything like this since the 1960s and 1970s. In the early 1970s George McGovern was the most left wing candidate for president I ever remember in my life time. I suppose the only presidential candidate even close would be Franklin Roosevelt. I suppose we could also consider William Jennings Bryan the most anti-imperialist candidate of the last two centuries.
However the system has never welcomed such left-wing people. McGovern was not supported by most of the Democratic Party when he ran. The press gave him lousy coverage. Why then would the political establishment even consider allowing a socialist to run as the Democratic front runner. Bernie ran well in spite of the terrible treatment he got from the Democratic Party and political establishment. The good news is that he may be able to get nominate in the next open election season. Or someone like him maybe able to take the reins. Such changes come with an establishment that is hostile to the left and just nasty towards socialism.
And Bernie can do a lot of good at the upcoming Democratic Convention. According to NPR:

"Speaking at the White House after the meeting, Sanders reiterated that he would compete in the D.C. primary next Tuesday and take his campaign issues to the July Democratic National Convention. He also affirmed his commitment to working on issues of income inequality. "We will continue doing everything we can to oppose the drift that currently exists toward and oligarchic form society where a handful of billionaires exercise enormous power over our political, economic and media life," Sanders said. He added that he looks forward to meeting with Clinton"to see how we can work together to defeat Donald Trump and to create a government which represents all of us and not just the 1 percent."
The meeting came at Sanders' request, according to the White House. According to a statement, the two are expected to "continue their conversation about the significant issues at stake in this election that matter most to America's working families."
But Bernie has said he will support Hillary Clinton and get behind her.
According to CNN:

"Democrats took giant steps toward party unity Thursday as Bernie Sanders vowed to work together with Hillary Clinton to defeat Donald Trump in November and President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden formally endorsed Clintonfor president.
Sanders' decision to continue his White House bid even after Clinton became the party's presumptive presidential nominee has had Democrats on high alert as they seek to quickly change gears and take on Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. Sanders' first explicit promise on Thursday to join forces with Clintonto take on the Republicans will help quell concerns among Democrats about divisions in the party.
Emerging from the White House after a meeting with Obama that lasted more than an hour, Sanders warned that a Trump presidency would be a "disaster" and that he would "work as hard as I can to make sure that Donald Trump does not become president of the United States."

So now we are stuck with Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. I agree this is not a great choice. Hillary is an establishment candidate to the max. She is not left-wing, liberal or socialist. But she would be the first female president. She will be in charge of picking the next supreme court judges. She will support Obama Care which does work and does help provide some medical care for lower income people. With Trump we can assume things will go back to the way they were with poor people having few if any real options for healthcare. Poor people in Americadie earlier than any other industrialized country. We all deserve better than that.
I know of many friends who refuse to vote for Hillary. Some people have built a case that she is untrustworthy and dishonest. But I like to point out that Donald Trump will win if she looses.
It may not matter to everyone but it does matter to me. We can do better than Donald Trump. If Trump wins the entire country and every branch of government will be in the hands of the Republican Party. That is a party that has created a haven for millionaires and billionaires and the rest of us have had to pay for all their privileges. I'm sick of that. I'm sick of Republicans.

Let's vote for Hillary, because it is just plain foolish not to.

Latest scam to rip off the American Workers- laid off/ but shut up

$

Whether I talk about democratic socialism as in Bernie Sanders or other types, as in Marxism, people have to wonder why I'm so down on capitalism. It is suppose to work so well. Why complain?
But here is an example of why many of us just don't like the capitalist system. It starts with an article in The New York Times called: "Laid-Off Americans, Required to Zip Lips on Way Out, Grow Bolder"

And the jest of the article is that local people where replaced by foreigners who promised to work for much less than the job they were taking.
Here is how it was supposed to work; Foreign workers were supposed to get temporary visas so they could take these American jobs and work for much less pay. But how did they get the Americans, who were being laid off, to retrain and help these replacement workers to settle in to their new jobs. Well, the Americans were given generous severance agreements, some as as much as $10,000 dollars. While that may seem like a lot, the workers were being laid off permanently and they were supposed to both train their replacements and keep quiet about the whole arrangement.
This was a great arrangement for the capitalists who benefited greatly. They wanted to replace their workers with outsourced foreign workers who were working much cheaper than their American counterparts. The best part must have been that the Americans would retrain their replacements to do all their jobs. And they had to agree to say nothing to the press about their obvious betrayals.
Despite the agreement some workers are speaking out. But for me there is more to the story than that. This is an obvious betrayal of the American worker. We live in this country and we all aspect to be treated with dignity as human beings. This story shows otherwise. We are cheated by those who the system is dedicated to. We are cheated and then disposed of as if we are yesterdays garbage. So why are so many working people in America so dedicated to both the capitalist system and the class of people it is dedicated to serving. It is bad enough that the system gets so much support, but the ruling class political party, the Republican Party continues to get a lot of working class support.

This article is just one more example of why the American worker gets ripped off. They all need to fight back. And the time is now.

Worst shooting in US history- let the frivolous, shallow and exploitive pundits sing out!

The first thing I have to think about after the Orlando Gay Club Shooting is what impact does this have on America? All news personalities have focused on the fact that this was the worst shooting of people in a terrorist incidence in the history of the country. Omar Mateen could be shouting "I'm number one" if he were still alive. But he is not. Now comes the big debate. Was he mostly anti-gay or was he a terrorist wannabe supporter of ISIS (Islamic State)? But from what we can tell so far, Mateen was mostly anti-gay. His joining the ISIScause could have been more of an after thought.
Articles about him say he talked as if he hated gay people, but he also bragged about having ties to Islamic extremists (or terrorists if we can use the USpropaganda term). It seems that he bragged as if this made him a kind of "James Bond" Character. He probably got the attention of a lot of curious women when he was out trolling for them.
So is there anything really political about this or is it just a case of a mentally deficient person who wanted to take out his frustration on a gay club?
In the end ISIS got a little publicity and they can brag that one of their own took down 50 gay civilians. They seem to have little to do with it, but why should they waist perfectly good publicity. The guy wins the country's record for innocent people gunned down needlessly by a loan gun-man.

While this is a massive tragedy that this country will take a lot of time to heal from, we can also expect the political hacks of all stripes to try and exploit this event. The presidential hopefuls will talk of how they have the answers to how to stop such events in the future. Some liberal groups will want to call on all supporters of minority rights to rally around the victims in solidarity. Conservatives will point fingers at Muslems and other minatory groups as being responsible. So for now we must let the circus of the frivolous, shallow and exploitive pundits continue and prosper.

As Bernie Sanders delivered a livestream address to his supporters on Thursday about the future of his movement, he signaled an eventual end to the campaign. Encouraging his supporters to get involved, Sanders vowed to help Hillary Clinton defeat Trump conditional upon the Democratic Party adopting a “real progressive agenda.” However, earlier in the day news broke about a different story that undercut the Vermont Senator’s calls for eventual party unity.
On the same website that published the DNC’s 200-page Donald Trump oppo file, the hacktivist known as “Guccifer 2.0” released what appears to be an internal email from the DNC discussing strategy, which served to confirm what many of Sanders’ supporters have felt all along: The Democratic Party leadership has had its thumb on the scale for Hillary Clinton in the primary. The email, dated May 26, 2015, about a month after Sanders announced his candidacy, revealed that at least some in the DNC were planning for a Clinton nomination:

But whatever the reason behind it, this leak has further incensed Sanders' supporters, and that is telling. It has been a long road to this point, but the fact that the 'Bernie Or Bust' Movement has grown to somewhere in the range of 3 to 4 million people (roughly a quarter to a third of Sanders' supporters) is as much a criticism of Hillary Clinton as a candidate as it is a condemnation of how the party has handled the primary.
From the outset, there has been a perception of favoritism by the DNC leadership. Some of those concerns were due to the very fact that the DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz was also Hillary Clinton's co-campaign chair in 2008.

Dr. Roger Michael's US Representative campaign a waist of time

By SJ Otto
This year we see that Republican Tim Huelskamp is being challenged in his first district US Representative seat, by Dr. Roger Michael, running as a Republican. How is he different from Huelskamp? He's not. He has come out with ads bragging about his conservative views, anti-abortion, pro-gun, anti-Obama Care (ACA) and he declared his is ready to do battle with the Democrats in Congress.

As with a lot of Kansas Republicans he takes stands and issues that haven't changed in 30 years. He has no new ideas and there is no real reasons for him to be elected over Huelskamp other than the issue that the incumbent doesn't really live in Kansas.
Michael has shown his true colours  by running ads that blame Obama Care for problems created by Governor Sam Brownback. In a recent ad he claims that Obama Care is responsible for the closing of rural hospitals here in Kansas. The reality is that hospitals have closed in Kansas because Brownback has refused to expand Medicaid. He changed Medicaid to KanCare, which has been a dismal failure and most annalists are in agreement to that.
This makes a liar out of Dr. Michael. Michael also made a stink over keeping his "Dr." on the ballet in the upcoming primary. Apparently Michael is a pompous ass who demands that we know he considers himself to be above the rest of us.
Michael leaves us no real reason to vote for him over Huelskamp. Both hold the same conservative views. There is nothing new about Michael's positions on the issues and he has no knew ideas.

There is NO reason to vote for Michael in the primary. He is just another idiot Teabagger.

As we continue to follow political campaigns here in Kansas, we find that Jay Sidie, a Democrat, is running against the right-wing autotron Kevin Yoder. It is a good time to start chipping away at the right-wing not-heads who continue to assault our state and federal government services.
Here is a notice I received as an e-mail. I don't like to take part in panhandling for politicians, but it doesn't hurt to support those who are willing to take on all the right-wing Republicans;
-SJ Otto

Kansas is headed in the wrong direction — and it’s thanks to policies that Kevin Yoder has supported since Day 1.
The current fiscal dire straits that our state finds itself in are the result of a series of funding cuts to our public education system that began in 2009 with then-State Rep. Kevin Yoder’s budget proposal that slashed school funding by hundreds of millions.
From the bad budget that failed Kansasto Yoder’s support for the disastrous government shutdown and his consistent anti-women votes in Congress, Kevin Yoder is the poster child for right-wing extremists.
Congressman Yoder has even voted to lessen the transparency of financial advisors when dealing with retirees’ savings accounts. That’s right — Yoder handed more power to the financial industry while risking seniors’ savings.
As Kansans we know that we can’t put our future in the hands of extreme politicians like Kevin Yoder who are only beholden to party orthodoxy and big donors.
Help us turn the tide and elect Jay Sidie this year. Contribute $5 or more now.
Thank you,
Democrats 2016
